TERMINATION OF
OPERATIONS
The Members
of ILCO wish to advise that, to comply with the repeal
of the Liner Conferences exemption in EC Regulation
4056/86, effective October 17, 2008 the aforesaid
Conference will be dissolved.
Accordingly, any existing ILCO tariff and arrangements
will cease to be in operation on October 18, 2008.
In June 1994 the Shipping Companies:Grandi
Traghetti Spa-Sicula Oceanica Spa, Ignazio Messina
& C. Spa, Navigazione Alga Spa, Tarros International
Spa, created a Conference named "ITALY/LIBYA
CONFERENCE – I.L.CO." to cover the Trade from
both Adriatic and Tyrrhenian Ports and the Libyan
Ports, as the successor to AC.TI.LI. that was covering
the Trade only from the Tyrrhenian Ports.
Over the years other two Companies joined the Conference
: Sloman Neptun Schiffharts AG and Brointermed Lines
Ltd. , while Navigazione Alga Spa resigned.
In August 2005 the Member Lines decided to extend
the range of the Conference to all Mediterranean Ports
and renamed it in "INTRAMED LIBYA CONFERENCE
– I.L.CO.".
The aims of I.L.CO. Conference are to provide the
Trade with regular maritime services for the carriage
of liner cargo between Mediterranean Ports and the
Ports of Libya.
The Member Lines of I.L.CO. have appointed ASSINAV
– Associazione Servizi tra Imprese di Navigazione
- to provide Secretariat services (see contact).
