TERMINATION OF
OPERATIONS
The Members
of IEMCO wish to advise that, to comply with the repeal
of the Liner Conferences exemption in EC Regulation
4056/86, effective October 17, 2008 the aforesaid
Conference will be dissolved.
Accordingly, any existing IEMCO tariff and arrangements
will cease to be in operation on October 18, 2008.
The ITALY / EAST MEDITERRANEAN CONFERENCE
was formed in May 1994 by the following Shipping Companies:
Egyptian Navigation Company , Gilnavi Società di Navigazione
Srl, Greek South American-Niver Lines, Ignazio Messina
& C. Spa, Losinjska Plovidba "BRODARSTVO",
Chr. M. Sarlis & Co., Tarros International Spa,
as the
successor to A.ME.TI.LE. created in 1949.
The aims of I.E.M.CO. Conference are to provide the
Trade with regular maritime services for the carriage
of liner cargo between Italian Ports of East and West
coast and the East Mediterranean Ports of Cyprus,
Greece, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria and Turkey.
The Member Lines of I.E.M.CO. have appointed ASSINAV
– Associazione Servizi tra Imprese di Navigazione
- to provide Secretariat services (see Contact).
